We Were Liars by E. Lockhart

I just read We Were Liars by E. Lockhart. It's one of those books that's marketed as being a mystery. From the moment you start it you know there is a secret and you're trying to guess what it is. It's about seventeen-year-old Cadence who can't remember her summer from when she was fifteen. We're given snippets and then have to piece together with Cadence what happened to her. It's a simple story but well-executed. The characters are wonderfully messy and the setting is perfect for summer (it takes place on a private island off the coast of Massachusetts). It's also a brilliant look at a particular family dynamic. I'm drawn to stories about family relationships and if that's something you enjoy too, then check this book out.

Have you finished any great books lately? Any perfect summer books you've come across?
